First of all, we are a social club. If you're only interested in arriving ten minutes before the game, playing for 90 minutes, and leaving to go home at the final whistle, we may not be the team for you.
We are also strictly amateur and we do not pay players. In fact you will have to pay us - due to league registration fees, referees fees, and field costs, we have to charge all players $225 per season (if you join later in the season this may be pro-rated) as well as a one-off $50 membership fee (which will not be reduced). Other than this all you need to do is get yourself to the field, and we expect you to turn up at our sponsor bar after games to socialise with your fellow team members.
Virtually all our games are on Sundays - times and locations will vary but usually within New York City and late morning/early afternoon kick-off times. Home games for the mens' teams are played around the city, often on Randalls Island or in Forest Hills (Queens). Fourth team games are played at City College or Riverbank State Park in Hamilton Heights (Manhattan) or Brooklyn Tech (Fort Greene). The Lady Rovers play as often as not in East River Park.
The men's team are looking for quality players - by which we mean players who are fit and have played recently at a high level (semipro or college or other amateur league in the US or abroad). We do not want anyone who is not interested in serious soccer - if you cannot commit to play most Sundays, then do not waste our time.
The women's team are also looking for players with experience, preferably college or high school and we may accept 1999 Women's World Cup winners.
