Barnstonworth Rovers F.C. 0 C.D. Iberia 1
An uncharacteristic goalkeeping error led to the lone goal of the match and gave Iberia 3 points and revenge against the Rovers. The Rovers matched or bettered Iberia in every aspect, except where it counted, the score. Unable to find the last touch, the Rovers squandered several clear chances.
Much improved Iberia got their lucky break in the first 3 minutes and before the Rovers (and Iberia late arrivals could take the field). Their PR Islanders pacy winger, cut inside, found himself in the Rover D and tried his luck. The football gods were with him, and the ball took a funny bounce and squeezed under the diving Broach, who was almost in disbelief. Rovers 0-1.
But the Rovers could have righted the ship in the first half. Pugli, a late arrival, received a ball in the area where his usually deadly touch would have tied the match, but this time it steered wide. And Jordi put in a cross to the far post where Oren should have finished. Colin had a free kick that went just over the bar.
The second half the scenario remained the same. Much of the play was a stalemate in the middle, with the Rovers having the initiative and the clearer chances. Their final one came when they were awarded a free kick inside the D. A curling shot that looked like it would dip in just sailed wide and the points went to Iberia
