In a very high quality match, the Rovers wasted their chance to stride in the playoffs and take revenge vs Iberia. The Rovers dominated possession, and moved the ball wide with aplomb. They lacked the finishing touch. Iberia made them pay, as usual, in their first foray. Another brilliant free kick to the upper 90.
Rovers 0-1. The Rovers responded and Pugli, finally, got to the end of a Jordi cross to tie it up with a powerful header. Rovers 1-1. Minutes later Iberia were reduced to 10 after a reckless challenge, the 2nd bookable offense. Then, Pugli thought he has tapped in the winner but he was incorrectly ruled offside. Fonzi should have scored but chose to pass it up. Jordi has the initial look at the open net. Now the Rovers will need help to repeat last year’s playoff appearance.
