R2D2 2 Astoria 0
R2D2 is marching on and pocketed an extra 3 points with a 2-0 win against Astoria this Sunday. With about 85% of ball possession the game was never really disputed but our opponent's great defensive effort managed to make our life more difficult than planned. Steph Norris and Darlene Estevez bagged the two goals for R2D2.
R2D2 is now on a 10 game winning streak.
Lady Rovers 1 CPR Red 6
After two convincing win in a row, the weekend proved much more difficult for Rovers 1. Following a bad bout of stomach flu, Rovers 1 was brought down to 9 players before the game even started. That number dropped to 8 after Mary Lawton got a bad knee injury (we are awaiting official diagnosis). Despite teh odds, Rovers 1 fought hard and kept its head high for the entire game, Shawn even managing to score one goal. Final score of 1-5 for CPR Red does not reflect the quality of the game developped by Rovers 1.
Both ladies team are off next weekend but expect big games on May 3rd.
