Barnstonworth Rovers FC 5 Polonia SC 1
The strongest Rovers squad in some time took care of business against the weakest, for a longer time, Polonia. Profligate Rovers finishing kept the score at nil for the 1st have and within logical boundaries after 90. Andy, recovered from an knee injury, made the difference coming off the bench. He did the hard work up top and latched onto a goalkeeper rebound from Wedding Boy Jordi thunder, early in the 2nd half to open the floodgates. Rovers 1-0
Pugli finally kept calm as he slotted a tap in at the far post. Jordi, once again was the provider. Rovers 2-0
The result was sealed as Polish players lost discipline and were reduced to 10 men when their monstrous forward needlessly lashed out at Salvo in the far corner, in front of the assistant and ref.
Soon, Pugli, having rediscovered his finishing touch, punished them with a nice lobbing finish around the penalty spot. Rovers 3-0
And when Levine, who took far less time to get Jordi his assist hattrick, headed in nicely at the far post, the rout was on. Rover 4-0
A soft penalty – and we know Broach has an aversion to saving them – blemished the clean sheet, before Levine, closed out the scoring. Rovers 5-1.
Levine also scored earlier for the Reserves to make it an unusual and rare 2-team hattrick.
