Rovers took the lead early doors after and controlled the match for long periods in the first half. It was Duane who scored first after his patented left sided run, he cut inside and hit a strike to the far post. We were unfortunate to not have more goals in the first half as Nedgy's 2 clear chances were denied and Marlon's excellent strike went just outside the post.
In the 2nd half, Pele pulled a typical Pele Masters comeback and re-took the lead over a period of twenty minutes. On their first goal, a thru ball came across, got tapped on to another striker who appeared offside but to no avail. 1-1. The second goal was a rocket of a strike that hit Carl on the shoulder, wrong-footing Kevin. Still reeling, we gave up a third in short order and all seemed lost. 3-1 to Pele.
We threw caution to the wind and ended up pulling a Pele Masters of our own. After Carl came close pinging a Tito cross off the crossbar, it was Marlon who got our second after receiving a cross from Kendall. Marlon controlled, shifted the ball to his left and calmly scored from the edge of the 6 yd box. And finally, it was Duane who got what sure felt like a winner when Nedgy's free kick curled into box. Carl flicked the header on to the near post where Duane tapped home from close range. Level terms at 3-3. With 1 minute left, they started to come forward and before the ref could blow for full time, tempers flared, some histrionics ensued and that was that.
