The Reserves, with Alan sporting his goalkeeper gloves effectively clinched the first 1st Division title for the club. They beat the 2 time NY State Champions for the 2nd time this season, leaving them 9 points behind with 3 games to play. Only CPR Reserve can mathematically catch them (7 points behind) but only if they fail to win another match against the 3 of the worst teams in the league. Even then, the Reserves hold the tie-breakers against both rivals.

Fittingly, it was Baskin that scored the winner midway through the first half, with a typically clinical left foot finish. Ron was also one of the scorers last time the club celebrated a championship - the 2nd Division title and promotion in May 2001 !
Rovers 1-0.
The Reserves played controlled and protected Alan, their volunteer goalkeeper, although, he stood tall every time asked. He made a particularly good stop early in the 2nd half parrying the ball over the bar.
Felix was exceptional in the unfamiliar centre back slot, until he succumbed to injury, second with a rare Chandis appearance.
The cause was aided by the Greeks who were facing similar goalkeeping issues, forcing them also to protect their rear.
The Rovers continued to create chances, and spurn them. Wiggi had one insdie the box,. Lucas threaded Yannick though facing the keeper but was blocked when trying to turn inside. He skied the next effort.
It took Baskin to hit the net again. With 15 minutes to go, he connected with another close range effort to seal the 3 points and, in all intense and purpose the first divisional Rover championship ! Rovers 2-0.
The opponents gave the Reserves a scare when the pulled one back in the dying minutes, but there was not time for much else.
