It was a showdown at high noon at Randall's Island. The Greek American's all on the field warming up while Premier players one by one trickled in. Emmon in goal, Nedgy anchored the defense, with Roger in front of him flanked by Kenton and Kendell. The middle, left to right, Maurice "The Zeek" Wellington, Alec, Carl and Robby. On top was Duane and Marlon "The Nox" Johnson. Duane scored the opening goal, followed by goal by Rob. Leading 2-0 the game took a "Saturday Night" twist.Now, anytime a ball was lost, play broken down or someone talk it was followed by a "What the #$%*, football 101'" from Nedgy. The Greeks got a penalty that was well played by the Greek player. Duane replied with another strike and put us ahead 3-1. The Greek's scored made it 3-2 and Yes, the football 101 speech from Nedgy saw us with eleven players behind the ball for the last 10 minutes.At the end of the day we had fun and left the field with a well deserved win. So we are in 2nd place and await the results from the Greeks vs Tersoro game next week. If they draw we are in the play-offs, either team win, they are play-off bound.
